How to Prevent Mould in Your Bathroom

Don’t feel bad if you have mould growing in your bathroom - it can happen to anyone! Also, it doesn’t help that bathrooms are the perfect space for mould to grow - yuck! How Do I Get Rid of Mould in My Bathroom?

Luckily there are a number of cleaning solutions that you can use to get rid of mould. 

  1. Bleach

    Bleach is a strong chemical to use in your bathroom that is highly effective, but should also be used with caution. 

    Simply spray on areas that have mould, wait a few minutes and then you can wipe it away with a damp cloth. 

  2. Hydrogen Peroxide 

    If you’re wanting to use something that is a bit more eco-friendly, you can use Hydrogen peroxide. 

    When using hydrogen peroxide, let it sit and bubble for 15 minutes. After that you can wipe clean and dry with a paper towel. 

  3. Baking Soda

    A safe and natural way to get rid of mould is to use baking soda! Simply mix with water and put into a spray bottle.

  4. Vinegar

    Vinegar is something that can be found in your cupboard! Use a spray bottle, and let sit for one hour. If you can get past the smell, using vinegar is an effective way to remove mould from surfaces.

  5. Alcohol 

    Another common chemical that you may have sitting in one of your cabinets is rubbing alcohol. In areas with mould, spray rubbing alcohol and let sit for 15 to 30 minutes. If you’re having trouble with it, you can try leaving it for an hour.

You can prevent mould from growing by increasing ventilation, ensuring that your bathroom rugs are cleaned or changed regularly and also making sure that your shower curtains are dried properly.
